The Checklist is the first step in creating
an online order. It is on this screen that
you tell us which items you want to buy.
Just follow these simple steps:
- Select one of the part number options listed.
This will tell us what to look for when you
submit your search. Following are definitions
that may help you understand these different
part number options. (If you do not know
any of these part number configurations,
then please see the section titled "What is the Search Products Button?"
- Customer Material Number:
This is your part number for our material.
In order to use this option, we must have
previously been given a file matching your
part number and our seven digit NIBCO material
number. If we have this file in our system,
then you can enter your part number, exactly
as you gave it to us, and you will find the
item you are looking for.
- Figure Number/Size:
This is the common "NIBCO part number"
that is known industry wide. It is the number
that can be found in our catalog along with
the particular size requested. The Figure
Number/Size can be used in searching for
product.
NOTE: The figure number/size does NOT have
any spaces, slashes, quotes or any other
special characters. When you use Figure Number/Size
in the product search be sure to take out
all of these special characters.
-For example, if you want to look up a 1"
wrot pressure Tee, you would enter 6111 into
the Figure Number/Size field.
- As another example, if you want to look
up a 1" solder full port bronze ball
valve, you would enter S585701. Just run
the letters and numbers together.
- You can also use the Universal Part Numbers
for plastic. For example a Sch40 1"
slip Tee would be a 401010. Just as the numbers
above, do not include any dashes or spaces.
For a complete list of Figure Number/Size
numbers please check your current price sheet.
- UPC Code:
This stands for Universal Product Code, and
each material that NIBCO sells has its own
UPC code. The format of the code is always
the same. The first 6 digits of each code
identifies that the material is manufactured
by NIBCO. These numbers are 039923. The next
5 digits identify the material. Each manufacturer
will use the same 5 digits to represent comparable
material. The last digit is a "check
digit". It is there to verify that the
previous 11 digits are valid. All of NIBCO's
pricesheets, Order Confirmations, Delivery
Notes and Invoices use the UPC number to
identify our product For examples of this,
please see our published pricesheets.
- NIBCO Material Number:
NIBCO material number represents the 7-digit
NIBCO product number of the item you purchased,
for example: 9055450. Our customers do not
normally see this internal number and it
is NOT the same as our catalog number, i.e.
607 1/2". The material number can be
used when for searching for a particular
item. You can get a list of the NIBCO material
numbers at www.nibco.com, by going to the
Excel pricing files.
- Enter a set of characters that corresponds
with the part number type selected above.
- Click on the search button.
- If there is a direct hit, your item will
be automatically entered into your checklist.
Continue to enter the numbers you are looking
for, one at a time, until your checklist
is complete.
- If your entry did not find a match, then
you will get a message which says, "Search
Results = 0". If you can't find a match,
you probably want to try our product search
database. See "What is the Search Products
button" section.
- You can either repeat the steps above in
order to add more items, or you can change
the quantity on the checklist to match the
quantity that you are looking for. Do this
by typing over the 0 in the "requested
quantity" field, and pushing the Update
Qty. button.
NOTE: You can add more items or change quantities
at any time before you click the "Submit"
button.
- When you have selected all of the items that
you need, and you have put in the appropriate
quantities, click on the "Next"
button to continue.
If you are not familiar with any of the part
number options we have available, you can
search our product database by clicking the
Search Products button. This will take you
to a picture of all of NIBCO's various product
groups. This chart will allow you to find
our product, even when you don't know our
part number. It will also allow you to select
multiple items at a time.
For example, if you want a PVC Schedule 40
tee, simply click on the product group "Residential
Plastic Fittings." The next page will
show you subcategories below this first level.
Click the subcategory that contains the item
you are trying to find. When you get to the
last category you will see all of the items
that match your search. At any time during
your search you can click on the link "Show
All Records," and the Search Results
page will display all of the materials that
are in the category that you have selected.
On this Search Results page you can select
as many of the materials as you want before
returning to the Checklist page. Simply click
on the material number, and a green check
mark will appear next to that item. To select
another, just click on that material number.
If you realize that you don't want to add
an item after you have chosen it, simply
click on the green check mark next to that
item, and it will be removed.
When you are finished selecting items, hit
the "Return to Checklist" link
to see what you have chosen. The items that
you selected will be in the Checklist and
the minimum order quantity will already be
loaded for you. You can change this quantity,
but if you drop below this number, we will
round back up to it when we look for availability
and price.
When you have updated all of your items with
the proper quantities hit the "Next"
button to continue.
